PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor, and is a free scripting language for web development as general-purpose programming language that can be deployed on most web servers on almost every operating system and platform, free of charge.
You can mix PHP code with HTML code, or in combination with different templating engines and web frameworks. PHP code can be processed by a PHP interpreter, such as a web server’s native module or a Common Gateway Interface (CGI) executable, and after is executed the web server sends the output to its client as a part of the generated web page.
PHP code generates web page’s HTML code, images, or some other data. PHP can also include a command-line interface (CLI) capability and in graphical applications.
