Like other free image editors, Pixia allows you to create digital art and supports layer editing, selective undos, and an assortment of brushes and tools for artists.
Pixia does not exactly have a step by step assistant when you first launch the program, however its simple, intuitive interface makes it easy to use. Beginners will get the hang of it in no time.
- right-clicking tools
- set the right click as an “undo” pen or as a dropper (to quickly change between colors)
- pop-up configuration
- small, expandable buttons for Palette, Color, Pen, and Layer settings
- quickly adjust brush size
Overall, Pixia is a solid alternative to Photoshop if you’re looking to quickly jump into character sketches and basic 2D art. It’s perfectly capable for all except the most graphic intensive renderings.
